In this time of great loss, we appreciated your professionalism, understanding and guidance. Built in 1907 as a private home, this building became a funeral home in 1947 when Amberson C. Bauer purchased it to establish the first Bauer Funeral Home. Modernization of the building has continued over the years but always with the goal of retaining the home's original charm and hospitality. A display and tribute center, offers many options in a wide variety of price ranges, allowing you to create a funeral or memorial service that will honor your loved one in a most personal and unforgettable way. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Toy, son Thomas Frederick and husband Thomas McConnell Scheeren.

Walter L. "Sonny" Barnett

You are all a first class operation and I believe dad made a wise choice in selecting your home to perform his funeral arrangements. You made us feel as though we were part of your family; you really did a fantastic job. We so appreciated all that you and the Bauer Family Funeral Services have done for our family.

During her life she worked for 422 Homes , several Real Estate companies, and also became a tax agent for H&R Block until she retired. Her passions were socializing with many friends, and being very active in politics, locally and throughout the state, part of the Democrat State Committee, and committee woman. She was recognized as Armstrong County Business Woman of the Year. She could argue her views with the best of them and convince any one of her point of view if you chose to debate an issue.

June Lukehart

The professionalism of your entire staff was evident throughout and was deeply appreciated by our entire family. For over 70 years, my family has been caring for the community and I am honored to continue the tradition of providing funerals with the greatest attention to compassion, dignity and respect. As a third-generation funeral director, I take pride in the lessons and experience gained by watching my grandfather and father serve our local families. I am honored to help my neighbors by providing meaningful tribute to their loved one's life and I hope you will trust my family to care for yours. Arnie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kittanning where he served as a church trustee, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Outreach Committee.
